Product Details

Manufactured in our Cornish factory, this spraydeck is built from ultra-durable 4mm Armortex® neoprene with DuPont™ Kevlar® reinforcement for maximum protection. Re-patterned in 2023 to suit the latest kayak designs and now proven worldwide, it features a pre-stretched, high-power 10mm shockcord that delivers exceptional tension and a secure, confidence-inspiring fit.

Designed and made in the UK, this whitewater spraydeck has everything a serious paddler demands. Super-tough, virtually bombproof Kevlar® shields the neoprene deck from paddle strikes, rock impacts, and relentless abuse. The underside is finished with a hand-painted, thick natural latex coating that both protects and grips, locking the deck firmly in place with the powerful 10mm shockcord to create a reliable, watertight seal.

The neoprene waist tube is raw-cut, with no stitched binding or trims. This allows full contact against the skin or dry top, significantly reducing flushing. Every seam on the Kevlar® PRO deck is glued and blind-stitched, then heat-taped at the waist and liquid-latex sealed underneath, delivering an uncompromising barrier against water ingress.

Product Care

Rinse all products thoroughly in clean fresh water after every use. Salt, bacteria, grit and sunscreen will degrade fabrics, seals and lines over time if left unchecked.

Air dry away from direct sunlight and heat sources. UV and extreme temperatures damage technical membranes, neoprene, latex seals and polypropylene. Never tumble dry, leave on a radiator, or dry in a car on a hot day.

Don't put products away damp — mould, mildew and delamination follow.

Store loosely in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, oils, fuels and chemicals. Don't compress or crease zips.

Keep zips clean, lubricated and straight. Never force or fold them sharply — zip damage is expensive and not covered by warranty.

Inspect regularly, especially load-bearing items like throwlines. Run rope through your hands before use and look for any wear, inconsistency or damage.

Glued, Blindstitched & Built to Last

Every seam on a Nookie spraydeck is glued first, then blindstitched from both sides — a stitch that passes through the neoprene without ever breaking the surface, keeping the seam completely watertight while adding serious structural strength. No exposed needle holes, no weak points. Each deck is then finished with heat pressed logos — clean & durable. It's the kind of construction detail that you don't see, but you absolutely feel in the longevity and performance of the finished product.

Hand-Applied Natural Rubber Latex Underside

These spraydecks are finished by hand with a brushed coat of natural rubber latex on the underside — and it makes a real difference. It protects the neoprene from the wear of the cockpit rim, but more importantly it grips. Hard. That latex-to-cockpit bond is what fuses paddler to boat, producing the kind of seal that stays put when the water gets heavy and the rolls start coming. It's a small detail that changes everything about how a spraydeck performs.
